Homepage Layout & Widgets

We've made setting up your homepage easy with JobBoard.io. With a simple drag and drop, you can customize your job board. By re-ordering, editing, or adding new widgets, you can configure your JobBoard.io homepage to match your brand and vision. When making these adjustments, we recommend having another window or tab open with your home page so that changes can be easily reviewed.

Widgets Available

Backfill Widget - Displays jobs from your selected backfill
Blog Widget - Shows links to your latest blog posts
Button Widget - Adds a clickable button to your homepage, which can link to a JobBoard.io page or an outside URL of your choice
Taxonomy Widget - Display a list of your site's Taxonomies. You can learn more about Taxonomies in our blog.
Employer Widget - Adds a scrolling list of employers to your homepage. Edit this widget to add/remove employers from the list.
Job Alert Widget - Add the job alert sign up form directly to your home page.
Job List Widget - Display your job posts, and choose what information is shown.
Map Widget - Display a map view of your latest postings. To use this widget, you must set up the Google Maps JavaScript API
Search/Banner Widget - Display the search form and express your brand identify with a customizable background, title and subtitle.
Text Widget - Display custom text or HTML code in the sidebar, main column or across the full-width of your job board.

Adding Widgets

With the variety of widgets available, you're probably eager to start trying them out! New widgets can be added to your home page with the click of a button.

Choose the Site Config option in the left hand navigation menu of your JobBoard.io Admin Panel.
Click the tab for Customizations.
Choose the Edit Homepage Layout option.
The layout of this screen mirrors the layout of the home page. Click the Add Widget button in the area you'd like to add a new widget.
Select the desired Widget Type from the dropdown.
Complete the form, and click Save.

These updates occur in real time, so you won't have to wait around for your homepage to update. Refresh your homepage to review your changes.

Organizing your Home Page

When you add a new widget, it will automatically be placed below all other widgets in the area to which it was added. You may want to move widgets around to make navigating your home page easier. You can also move widgets between the different areas of your home page (Example, Moving from the Main Column to the Sidebar).

Choose the Site Config option in the left hand navigation menu of your JobBoard.io Admin Panel.
Click the tab for Themes & Customization.
Choose the Edit Homepage Layout option.
The layout of this screen mirrors the layout of the home page. Hover your cursor over the widget you'd like to move, but NOT on the Edit or Delete button.
Click and hold, then drag the widget to the desired position on the home page.
That's it! No need to Save.

Like changes to the widgets themselves, these edits occur in real time. Refreshing your homepage will allow you to review the changes made.
