For most job boards, the ultimate goal is to make money, and it all starts with the products you offer. JobBoard.io's product features allow you to offer a wide range of flexible packages. For small employers with intermittent hiring needs, a Single Job Post is perfect. For large employers with an ongoing need to post a high volume of jobs, an unlimited package may be more appropriate. You can even use your E-commerce portal to charge for custom products you plan to deliver off site.

Creating a Product

You'll have full control to create new products at any time. You set the prices, and customize the products to meet the needs of your customer base.

1. Navigate to E-Commerce -> Products.
2. Click Create New Product.
3. Select the type of product you'd like to create in the Product Type drop down. The form will automatically adjust based on the type selected. Details about each product type are covered later in this article.
4. Complete the remainder of the New Product form.
5. Click Save.

Just like that, your product is ready for purchase!

Product Type: Job Posting

Job Posting products allow your employers to post jobs on your site. You can create Job Posting Products with a Single or Multiple posts included. Below, we'll cover the fields that appear in the Job Posting Product setup.

• Name: What would you like to call your job posting product? This will be shown to Employers on your products page. i.e. “Five Post Multi-Pack”
• Description: The description will be shown to your Employers on the Products page. This is your opportunity to provide details about the product, and sell your employers on making a purchase.
• Special Instructions: This information will appear on the receipt when the product is purchased.
• Price: Set the price you wish to charge for this product. This is the amount before any taxes or coupons.
• Hidden: Choose whether you want this product to be visible on your products page.
• Allow Coupons: Can coupons be redeemed against this purchase?
• # of Jobs: Set the number of jobs included in this product. For unlimited jobs, leave this field blank.
• Job Listing Duration: Set the number of days that jobs will be displayed on the job board before expiring.
• Jobs must be posted within: How long will your customers have to use the job credits purchased? Leave this field blank if you don't wish for the credits to expire.

If you've created upsells, you will also see options to include or offer those upsells as a part of this purchase.

Applying Upsells

Upsells will only be offered as an add-on at the time of purchase for single job postings. If you'd like customers to be able to purchase multi-job packages that include upsells, we recommend making one product for regular job postings, then a second product with the same number of jobs that includes any upsells you'd like to include. Featured and Urgent upsells included in a bundle of 2+ jobs will be applied to ALL jobs purchased in that bundle. Be sure to price accordingly.

At this time there is no option to apply upsells to only a portion of jobs in a package, or to allow clients to purchase upsells while posting a job that was purchased as part of a job pack.

Product Type: Profile Access

The Profile Access product allows you to sell access to your candidate profile database. It includes the following fields:

• Name: What would you like to call your product? i.e. “Profile Access”
• Description: The description will be shown to your Employers on the Products page. This is your opportunity to provide details about the product, and sell your employers on making a purchase.
• Special Instructions: This information will appear on the receipt when the product is purchased.
• Price: Set the price you wish to charge for this product. This is the amount before any taxes or coupons.
• Hidden: Choose whether you want this product to be visible on your products page.
• Allow Coupons: Can coupons be redeemed against this purchase?
• # of Profile Views Included: Set a limit to the number of profiles that can be viewed before an employer would need to repurchase profile access. Leave this field blank for unlimited views.
• Product Expires In: Set a time limit for how long employers can access profiles before they will need to repurchase profile access. Leave this field blank if you don't wish for the access to expire.

Unlimited Access

If you leave both "# of Profile Views" and "Product Expires In" blank, employers will have unlimited, permanent access to your profile database.

Product Type: Upsell

Upsell's are optional add-ons which can be included with a product, or purchased additionally.

• Upsell Type: Select from one of the following -
  • Featured Job: Jobs will be pinned to the top of the jobs list for a duration you specify. After this period has expired, the job will retain a darker border to make it stand out, but will be ordered in the list as normal.
  • Custom Upsell: This can be anything you want! For example, if you run a newspaper, you could offer a joint posting in your classifieds. Custom upsells will not have an impact on your JobBoard.io site, so we recommend including Special Instructions for how employers can redeem these purchases.
  • Urgent Job: This upsell adds a flag to the top right corner of a posting letting Job Seekers know that an employer wants to hire for this position ASAP. Job Seekers are attracted to positions they know will be filled fast.
  • Job Boost: The Job Boost allows employers to spend additional funds to have their job distributed across our syndication network. You keep a percentage of the funds spent on the boost, and the remainder is used to promote the job. Find out more in our blog!
• Name: Set the display name for your upsell. i.e. “Featured Jobs”
• Description: This is your opportunity to provide details about the product, and sell your employers on making a purchase.
• Special Instructions: This information will appear on the receipt when the product is purchased.
• Price: Set the price you wish to charge for this product. This is the amount before any taxes or coupons.
• Hidden: Choose whether you want this product to be visible on your products page.

Product Type: Custom

Custom means you can create any product you wish. The post a job form will not be displayed. JobBoard.io will not have features in place to automatically deliver on your custom products. If offering Custom Products, you'll need to be sure to monitor for these purchases, and put procedures in place to deliver on products sold.
